Buying a Puppy

DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS

Deposits received for black Jagdterrier puppies on or after  January 1, 2023 will sell for $1250.00.  A deposit of $250.00 will secure your spot on our waiting list.  Deposits are to be applied to the price of your puppy. The brown/red phase Jagdterrier puppies are $1750.00 with a $250.00 deposit, balance due prior to pick up.

Price includes veterinarian health examination and veterinarian health certificate for travel. We are transitioning to all AKC pedigree registrations. We do have a declining number of females with NKC or UKC pedigree that will be retired soon.   All AKC puppies will be sold with limited registrations only,  restricting AKC registration of the offspring of these individuals. Inquire if full AKC registration is desired.

Your deposit secures you a place on our waiting list.  The order of selection is based on the time of deposits received.   When your name comes to the top of the waiting list you will have the option to pick one of the puppies available at that time.  If we do not have a puppy with the characteristics of gender, coat or color you desire, you will remain on the waiting list with first choice until we can produce the puppy you want.  We can not control or predict how many males or females, rough coats, short coats, etc. will be available in any given litter.  We breed primarily dogs that have a beard and a medium rough coat, however we can have puppies with all different characteristics in  the same litter. Only a minority of puppies will have a robust beard by weaning time however most of them will develop a beard as they mature.  We cannot guarantee a beard. Some puppies will have an obvious rough wiry coat at birth and these puppies will usually also have a beard.  Other puppies will not develop a beard or heavier coat characteristics until they begin to mature.

Trends we are aware of are that puppies going to southern climates and areas with lots of burrs tend to be more short coat puppies.  Puppies going to northern climates with more snow and colder weather tend to have the heavier rough coats.  A dog with a heavy, rough coat may suffer in a hot desert climate.  A slick short coat puppy may not be as well suited to conditions in Alaska or Canada as a heavy coat puppy would be.  Choose your puppy with some consideration of how he will fare where you live.
